This multipart plastic kit bullds one Ahzek Ahriman, Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons. Ultimately, this determination would see him play a pivotal role in the Burning of Prospero – and walk strange and terrible paths long after the close of the Horus Heresy. A respected commander even before his Legion's reunion with its missing Primarch, Ahriman's keen intelligence and talent in warpcraft soon made him Magnus' foremost apprentice, but his greatest strength is his indefatigable will. In the end, I absolutely loved it, but the beginning was so bad I almost quit this book.Ahzek Ahriman has the unique distinction of being both the first and last Chief Librarian of the Thousand Sons, and is the most gifted mystic among their already-formidable psyker corps.

I was at work and just let the first four hours play in the background. By the end, he was a terrific narrator, he just needed some time to get there. After that I got hooked and the narrator seemed much more confident and invested after this point as well. That being said. The book really picked up after they left that first planet. The narrator had a hard time differentiating the voices in the first part of the book and the first 3.5 to 4 hours of the story were dull. The beginning hours of this audible were a slog to get through. As with many books in the horus heresy, this book suffers from an excess of fluff.
